Check out this unboxing video of a 18k gold 38mm iwatch. Who hasn't wondered what this experience would be like? I know I have.

If I wanted an 18k gold watch, I would just have the inside taken out of my watch and have the frame made in gold. This would cost me about $400-500 US dollars here in Taiwan and save me about $13,000, but thats just me. I am happy with my sport edition made with aluminum casing.

For now, the watch doesn't have a camera, but it will soon. Till then, we have an alternative. We can take screenshots the same way we do it on iphone. Just press the two buttons on the right side at the same time and the screen will flash to indicate that the screenshot was taken. Its really very useful if you want to record activity or calories burned so you can share on Facebook or Twitter. There are over 8,000 apps in the Apple store for iwatch, I am sure you will find one or two you like that will make you want to share a screenshot. Have fun, I know I am with my iwatch sport. SCW

Apple Watch Water Test, Find Out Just How Good It Performs Under Water! July 2015, Apple Tips News.

So just how water proof is the watch? I had the same question 2 days after getting the watch sport. I workout 5+ days a week and its hot over here in Taiwan right now. I sweat a lot while on the running machine or doing weights, so I was worried. I checked and Apple says this watch is ok to get wet in the rain or washing hands, but its not waterproof enough to go swimming or take a shower. 

These guys in the video took it a giant leap forward with waterslides, diving into the pool and even taking it below the water and turning it on to check the time. 

Maybe it is water proof and Apple just doesn't want people to know so they have less responsibility about repairing it. Thats a smart move by apple that could save them tens of millions every year. 

Don't worry about sweat, rain or washing hands, but you might want to take Apples advice and stay out of the water with it. SCW

Now this is a really useful feature. It measures the calories you burned and it tells you when you need to stand up for one minute to make you healthier. I had my iwatch all week and I didn't know this was so important, so I set it up today. It's easy to set up, just a few easy steps like year of birth, weight, height. Then you set up a goal of how many calories you hope to get every day. I am a fitness guy. I hit the gym 1 to 1.5 hours a day for five days a week. I always assumed these apps are silly. I was so, very wrong. Got an watch? Care about your health? Then this is the #1 most important thing you need to do ASAP. SCW

While we don't have exact Apple Watch sales numbers, Tim Cook has given us some idea as to how well developers have embraced the wearable so far. On the Q3 revenue call, Apple's CEO confirmed that more than 8,500 third-party Apple Watch apps are available. Apple previously said the Watch launched with about 3,000 Watch-compatible apps. That's about 5,500 new apps in the three months since launch. That 8,500 figure also, however, represents less than one percent of the over 1.5 million iPhone apps now in the App Store, As for how people are using the Watch, Cook said Twitter, Line, and WeChat are some of the most-used Watch apps. Communication apps on the wrist — all of which might change after watchOS 2 enables native apps (which Cook says will be "killer") when it's released later this year.

I Got A Rubber Case To Protect My iwatch, July 2015, Apple Tips News.

Hey everyone. I was strutting through Taipei with my new white iwatch on my wrist, when the unthinkable almost happened. You know what I'm talking about. Yeah, I almost scrapped my watch against a heavy glass case as I walked though a crowed shopping mall. 

It sent shivers down my spine. I dared not looked down at it, so others wouldn't notice that I had done something so idiotic as I did. A few minutes later I took a look at it and found it survived unscathed. This taught me something valuable. I'm a clumsy oaf so I need a cover for my watch. 

I searched the internet and found nothing under $15 US and decided to search that local iphone shops. After checking about 8 unofficial iphone stores I decide to hit up a real Apple store. Here I found my watches salvation. A white rubber cover. It cost me $24 US for it, but I was desperate. It came with two clear plastic screen protectors which I later found out made my watch screen equal to the screen resolution of a iphone 3. After tossing the screen protectors in the garbage I put on the rubber armor and it was wonderful. 

So if you have an iwatch sport, consider a case for it. Oh, and don't get the plastic hard cases, they pop off and you will waste your money. 

PS: A day later someone on Ebay began selling a similar watch rubber case that looked 95% similar to mine for only $2 US. with free shipping, but I didnt have the time to wait 2 weeks while I destroy my watch. I had to have it now, but next time, I will order the Ebay version.

How to take on and off the band on your iwatch, a fast and furious hint. Apple News.

A major problem when you get the iwatch is how the heck do you change its band? Well, its easier than I thought. Just flip it over so its back is facing up. On the back are two little lines, which are actually buttons, push one of them, (not letting go) and at the same time gently pull out or push in the strap. Release the button when its in perfect and you have one finished. Here is a video that really helped me out, so I hope you may find it useful. SCW

Clash of Clans On iwatch, How Will It Help You? Can It Help During Clan Wars? iwatch App Notifications, Apple News.

Hey guys, as it turns out, iwatch is useful in some ways when you play Clash of Clans. As it turns out, your iwatch will notify you of all notifications that are on your iphone. 

This being said, you can turn off and turn on notifications on you install app on your phone. Simply go to the app an open NOTIFICATIONS, and swipe the COC app to turn it green and pow! You will get the COC notifications. Photo below. 

Now you ask, will this iwatch help me in Clash of Clans? Yes, if you care about being attacked, seeking revenge, or knowing when your troops are full so you can attack, absolutely. Right now, COC does not have an iwatch app that lets you have direct access into the game, but COC is a big franchise, and they will be making one soon. It may even allow you to collect your gold and elixir from your watch, or even, if we are very lucky, have an auto pilot for attacking, but I don't think the watch CPU could take it, maybe in a few generations. I will tell you more about that later. Clash on!

My new iwatch, Taiwan was sold out, so I had to go on-line to order from Singapore. July 2015, Apple News.

Location of purchase: Singapore, but shipped to Taiwan.

Hey everyone. I wanted to buy the iwatch here in Taiwan, but believe it or not, it was sold out of every Apple store in the country. 

I also found out on Taiwan TV news that the country only got 700 iwatches for the whole country. A WTH moment for sure.

The only iwatches left were the gold ones, and since they were asking $15,000 US dollars for it, I had to pass...while laughing. I decided the only way was to order one on line, so I went to my iphone and found the closest Apple site...which is in Singapore. I looked and if I ordered it from them I could get it in 3 days! I said yes and bought the white sport. Its a lot cheaper to buy than the metal band ones. Also, I will buy a metal band myself on line from Ebay and get it for 15% the price Apple is asking for it. Thats a savings of nearly 150-170 US dollars just for a band. 

The watch itself cost me $450 and this is the cheapest they had. I did notice Asia does boost the sales price about 10-20% on Apple iPhones, iPads and iwatches.
